Conquering the Summit of Cerro Pelado

  • Starting the challenge of ascending Cerro Pelado!

Get ready for a trekking adventure that will take you 2,624 feet (800 meters) above Ushuaia for some awe-inspiring, 360 degree views of this ancient ecosystem of snow-capped mountains, valleys, and pristine glacial lakes as you take on the challenge of ascending Cerro Pelado!

The Cerro Pelado trail is a more "off the beaten path" than other hiking trails in the area. It’s a bit more rugged and difficult, but also less frequented, which means a more exclusive hiking experience. And because it’s quite apart from the mountain range, Cerro Pelado offers unbeatable panoramic views of Ushuaia, the Beagle Channel and the surrounding terrain.

Our trek begins with a hike through a native forest as we take in the fresh mountain air and the beauty around us. As we ascend past the tree lines, we’ll hike along rocky terrain until we reach the summit of Cerro Pelado, where we’ll experience breathtaking, 360 degree panoramic views of Ushuaia… its mountains, valleys, and even the Beagle Channel. After taking in and contemplating the beautiful sights of Ushuaia from over 800 meters up, we’ll start our descent, taking with us the awesome experience of having conquered the imposing Cerro Pelado!
