Trekking to Turquoise Lagoon and the Carbajal Mount Summit

  • We’ll trek through the beauty of century-old beech forests

Get ready for a hiking adventure that takes you through the beauty of century-old beech forests, across imposing rock formations, and turquoise waters, before conquering the summit of Carbajal Mount, where you’ll take in the imposing view of the snow-capped Andes Mountains and the surrounding Ushuaia landscapes!

Our trek starts out with an approximately 1 hour hike along a demanding slope covered with majestic, century-old beech trees of the sub-Atlantic forest. As we ascend further up, we’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of the surrounding valleys as we make our way to the Turquoise Lagoon, where we’ll take in beautiful views of the turquoise-colored water of the small lagoon.

From the lagoon, we’ll continue trekking and gaining altitude along a rocky ridge, until we reach the top of Mount Carbajal. From here we’ll enjoy a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding terrain, including the Carbajal Valley and the Emerald Lagoon. From this area it is easy to see traces of the tread marks that the glaciers made 10,000 years ago while they advanced towards the Beagle Channel, during the last glaciation age. After we’ve taken in the gorgeous views from atop the mountain, we’ll begin our descent and return with the experience of having conquered Mount Carbajal.
