Trekking Adventure at Cerro Cabras with Rapelling

  • Trek through the canyon-filled landscapes surrounding Cabras Mount

Get ready to explore the rugged terrain of Mendoza as you trek across the scenic mountainside and take in some awe-inspiring views of the surrounding landscapes, including being surrounded by the backdrop of the majestic snow-capped Andes. Then it’s time to embrace your adventurous side when you reach the beautiful Quebrada del Salto Waterfall, where you’ll enjoy a beautiful view and have the opportunity to rappel down a rock wall next to the waterfall.

Our trek starts off as we trek westward along the foothills to the valley of Potrerillos. From there we’ll head west and make our way along the edge of a hill. As we ascend the hills, we’ll be treated to some amazing panoramic views as the valley opens up before us, especially with the view of the Cordon de Plata, part of the Front Range. We’ll then reach the summit of Cerro Cabras, for some more stunning views, including seeing the Potrerillos dam and the Mendoza River. Next we’ll have a mountainside lunch as we enjoy the beautiful views.

Now it’s time to head for the Quebrada del Salto waterfall. Once we’ve reached and marveled at the pristine, 235 feet (72 meters) Quebrado del Salto waterfall, we’ll have the opportunity to rappel down a rock wall next to the waterfall. Our expert guide will introduce us to the basic concepts of rappelling and safety, and we’ll be provided with the necessary equipment needed. Now it’s time to feel the rush of adrenaline as we head out over the huge, rocky wall! We’ll rappel down a distance of around 60 feet (18 meters).

After our exciting rappelling experience, we’ll then head back on a different hiking trail. Our Cerro Cabras trek comes to an end with a ride back to our hotel.
