An Exclusive Discovery Journey to Iguazu Falls & Patagonia's Unique Wildlife, Glaciers and Mountains

A Trekking Adventure to the Vinciguerra Glacier

  • Our trek to the Vinciguerra Glacier takes us through lush green forests

Get ready to lace up your hiking boots and challenge your adventurous side, as you take on the many unique landscapes of Ushuaia and trek up to one of the largest glaciers at the Ends of the Earth: the mighty Vinciguerra!

Our trekking excursion will kick off with a briefing on the area, and safety tips from our expert guide. We’ll then start our hike as we head out along a melt-water river and through a native lenga (a type of Patagonian tree) forest. We’ll ascend nearly 2,000 feet (600 meters) through the forest, as we trek beyond the treetops to be greeted by beautiful panoramic views of the nearby snow-capped mountains, and pristine glacial lakes; including the Laguna de los Tempanos (Icebergs Lagoon), nestled at the foot of the glacier. It’s at this beautiful spot that we’ll take a short break and enjoy our lunch box.

Once we’ve taken in the awe-inspiring views that surround us - and filled our camera with fresh memories - it’s time to explore the Vinciguerra Glacier. Although the glacier has retreated a few dozen meters away from the lagoon, it now boasts its attractiveness for its caves, and the magical appeal it keeps, offering breathtaking views of the area.

After our glacier exploration, it’s time to make our descent and head back, having had the experience of witnessing one of the largest glaciers in Ushuaia!
