Get ready for a hiking adventure that takes you through the beauty of century-old beech forests, across imposing rock formations, and next to turquoise waters; before conquering the summit of Carbajal Mount, where you’ll take in the imposing view of the snow-capped Andes Mountains and the magnificence of the surrounding Ushuaia landscapes!
Our trek begins with an approximate 1 hour hike along a demanding slope, covered with a majestic and century-old sub-Atlantic beech tree forest. As we continue in our ascension, we’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of the surrounding valleys, as we reach the Turquoise Lagoon, where we’ll take in beautiful views of the richly-blue hues of water which cover this small lagoon.
From the lagoon, we’ll continue trekking and gaining altitude along a rocky ridge, up until we reach the top of Mount Carbajal. From here, we’ll enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding terrain, including the Carbajal Valley and the Emerald Lagoon. From this area it is easy to see traces of tread marks that glaciers have made as far back as 10,000 years ago, as they advanced towards the Beagle Channel; during the last glaciation age. It’s from this spot that we’ll take a break and sit, relax, and enjoy some lunch, against this beautiful backdrop of nature.
After we’ve taken in the gorgeous views from atop the mountain, we’ll begin our descent and return with the fulfilling feeling of having conquered Mount Carbajal.
